Wow, Conan forgiving an attempted murder, thats unusual

Schwatzr • 2 years ago

yeah that man seems to really regret his action, maybe that's why conan gave him a chance to fix it even though killing your wife will never be a solution and a really horrible thing to do.

SShields • 2 years ago

Conan gave the guy a chance of forgiveness without considering the wife's position. She woke up, after nearly dying and being told, "It was an accident. Your husband and this kid detective said". What could she possibly say after that? It would be her word against theirs.

It was the wife's position to forgive, not Conan's.

Schwatzr • 2 years ago

yeah you are right.. Conan should consider the wife's stand in this matter too whether she wants to charge him with the crime or not.. but from the last scene, i think she truly forgave him

Dio Joestar • 7 months ago

I don't think so. The wife still have the choice to overturn the proposed narrative (made by Conan) and get her husband arrested, if she really wanted to.

Conan would simply explain his reasoning behind his actions and, in the process, lose some reputation or credibility with the police.

So in the end, Conan won on this bet.

LesK • 1 year ago

no you're wrong. you are utterly entirely and completely wrong.

strange guy • 1 year ago

Yeah I know

Holly • 2 years ago

That lady is too good for him. Honestly, she forgave him so quick, and with such a warm smile! The world needs more people as kind as her, hope her kid takes after their mom and not their dad

SShields • 2 years ago

She should divorce him and take their kid far away. What if there's a misunderstanding with the kid, he's going to off the baby too? Can't trust this guy for sure.

LesK • 1 year ago

now you think he's going to kill their child? where are you getting this stuff?

strange guy • 1 year ago

Yeah I know what you mean

hereforfun • 2 years ago

Let it be know on this historic moment that conan let a criminal out of the hock for the first time ever, for the sake of a safer and better future of a innocent being such as a kid, how righteous of him. But lets give our critic to the husband, fella should have jumped, screw that guy

SShields • 2 years ago

Hated how Conan was over here giving lies, not even bothering to know if the wife would forgive him. What if the wife was like, "This bastard tried to kill me. I don't forgive him. Throw this dude in jail!" It felt like she was almost forced to forgive him because she had two witnesses against herself.

Shizuku Nai • 1 year ago

Its been 5 months already so i'm not sure if you still care, but i'll put this for other people to read too.

Its more of conan deciding to give the man a chance to confess his sins to his wife directly as a show of sincerity and repentance. Ultimately, conan only postponed the man's arrest from that day to until the police came to question the wife. The wife could have told the police what actually happened depending on whether she still forgave her husband or not. It was still her testimony that would sway the police as conan had not actually witnessed the scene. And like the person above, hereforfun, said, if the wife chose to forgive her husband, it would be saving the life of their child.
In the end, although conan lied, he did it only after confirming that the husband felt guilty, had regretted his actions and deep down still loved his wife enough to hope for and show relief when her surgery succeeded. The wife was already shown to be kind hearted enough to have a chance in forgiving the husband so conan chose to go for the option with the least destruction, and told a white lie.

strange guy • 1 year ago

Yeah I agree

LesK • 1 year ago

Conan witnessed nothing. not a thing. Ayumi saw the lady threaten the guy with a knife. the video of Ayumi proves that. all Conan saw was WHAT WE SAW, WE-THE-AUDIENCE didn't see the husband stabbing his wife on purpose! if the wife had stated what had really happened do you think Takagi would have arrested the husband? the only evidence was the voicemail and the wife's testimony (if she chose to give it) that her husband took the knife from her and deliberately stabbed her.

Conan can ONLY prove one thing, what the voice mail said. his entire deduction is completely and utterly circumstantial with only ONE piece of supporting evidence. one. nobody will ever be able to prove the husband set this whole BBQ party up, nobody can prove he instigated that squabble, there's no proof of fake hiccups, nobody can prove he hid his phone under the couch.

no matter what Conan said, or the husband said, or the wife said, there is only ONLY ONE form of corroborating evidence. the voicemail.

Dio Joestar • 7 months ago

yes, this episode heavily relied on circumstantial evidence and speculative logic other than the voicemail (solid evidence).
So the wife's testimony after she survived from being stabbed sealed the fate of his husband by forgiving him.

What Conan did was only to delay the impending arrest and told necessary white-lie to allow them the opportunity to talk over, clear up misunderstanding/miscommunication, and ask forgiveness from each other.

strange guy • 1 year ago

Yeah I know

Airen • 2 years ago

HAHAHAH you're funny. I'm thinking the same thing.

Eman Hamed • 2 years ago

Face Palm, I agree Haibara I agree

Nanashi • 1 year ago

I think people r kinda pissed about how conan just helped the man without knowing about her wife's thoughts look that man really knows others emotions except her girl he probably would have figured how his wife would forgive him as she had that kind of nature nd as wife's perspective i think even she understands the way he talked to him anyone would take it seriously i think she understood that she was at fault too nd then she forgived him

bari • 2 years ago

same,, haibara. i won't forgive him too HAAHAH

Loner_under_the_roof • 2 years ago

That guy doesn’t deserve a second chance, just my opinion

SShields • 2 years ago

Throw him and his dumbass BBQ off the roof.

LesK • 1 year ago

once more with the murderous intent!

strange guy • 1 year ago

Yeah I felt so

SShields • 2 years ago

So the husband cheats on her, gets mad when he can't go on trips with his "female friends", and tried to kill her.

Then said, "I didn't know what to do...whether to go along with the murder trick or not." Like has this man not heard of divorce?

Throw the whole man off the building without a second thought.

If I was the woman, I would be terrified that one small argument would lead to my death. Like burn the food, sleep with one eye open because you never know.

LesK • 1 year ago

what proof do you have he was cheating? one of his female contacts, a co-worker, quits after his wife contacts her and offers some support and a friendly older female perspective, and that's all the proof you could ever have... because that's all there is in the show. plus, Conan or Haibara's entirely un-informed opinion of that female co-worker quitting.

how do you know all of his 'trips' were with females? you can't, because there's no list of names and sexes going along with those names.

you are projecting INTO the facts and taking things out of context because of your perspective.

always remain neutral, passive, and listen and look at the facts as they are presented to you.

then, YOU want to THROW HIM off the building? you're going to MURDER HIM due to your erroneous assumptions?

i would call that a true crime of fully intending to kill him.

I love that line from Haibara. Also, I absolutely agree with it!! The husband doesn't deserve his wife and her forgiveness!!! To hell with him!
